people. to help clean up the city. kron 4's scott rates shows us how the program will work. >> reporter: the city manager telling me this program will provide food, clothing and cash to the homeless here on these streets in exchange for helping keep the city looking sharp! last night the city approving funding to bring in the non-profit organization downtown streets team. the $272,000 one year program will create a 12 person team made up of homeless individuals here in san rafael. the team members will work about 20 hours a week cleaning side-walks and streets. in return they will receive $100 a week for food and housing the downtown streets team already has successful programs in palo alto and san jose, the san rafael city manager says the homeless problem here has gotten so bad something had to be done >> we will have always had downtown facilities to help the homeless. lately, however there is been a larger number. our citizens have been concerned that we need to do more. and the cities portion of that $272,000 price tag will only be 47k because of several donations the city hopes th

. >> developing tonight at eight. police are investigating the death of a teenage girl. who suisun city yesterday. and found dead in fairfield this morning. a passerby discovered the girl's naked body in allan witt park at about 6-45 this morning. right now. her death is being investigated as a homicide. kron-4's charles clifford has been in fairfield all day. he joins us live tonight with the very latest. the girl, who's described as a teenager, was reported missing by a guardian thursday afternoon when she didn't come home from school. the suisun city police department spent thursday eveing and friday morning searching for her. around 6:45 friday morning, an officer with the fairfield police department discovered her body lying naked in a parking lot here at allan witt park. fairfield police blocked off a large section of the park and spent most of the day searching the area. they also contacted suisun city police who were able to identify girl as their as of friday evening the girls name and exact age had not been released, pending notification of next of kin. the fairfield police department i

of a teen girl from suisun city. she fairfield park. kron 4's charles clifford >> reporter: speaking to the press thursday afternoon, the fairfield police department declined to say whether or not they had identified a suspect in genelle conway-allen's murder. police chief walter tibbet said that they wanted to be very carefull about what information was released publicly while police didn't release any signifigant new details about this week old case they did say they were analyzing surviellance video from the area near where genelle was last seen. they believe this picture taken last thurday afternoon is the last known image of the girl. here body was found the following morning. >> we are asking anybody who has seen the body or her... before it happened, to contact the police. >> reporter: whit park, a small memorial continues to grow and neighbors remain sadened by what happened. >> she was just a girl, she was just starting her life. >> reporter: the family of genelle conway-allen also released a statement today saying, "this has been a devastating tragedy for our family and ou

homeless encampment in the city of san jose. kron4 shows you where and why hundreds of illegal campers were getting the boot. >> the exact date has not been announced, but the latest word from san jose city hall is that sometime during the first week of march, the homeless people you see camped out here near the airport, directly beneath the flight path, will be asked to leave. they will be evicted and camp side here will be cleaned up. that means the 100 or so homeless people in some 70 tents and other makeshift shelters here will have to go. the coming action spurred by pressure from neighbors fed up with rising crime, trash, and unsanitary conditions fueled by fears the unprecedented grove of the camp may be the result of homeless people moving here from outside the region. >> cleanups are just part of an overall strategy to address a much larger problem, which is the homelessness that our community is facing. we'll move people, but we are hoping we can use that as a way to positively reenforce the access and services. >> spread across several acres of city-owned land, just south of ma

in san francisco. but next season will be the teams last at the stick. the city has announced plans to demolish the stadium after the team moves south to its new home in santa clara. kron 4's charles clifford has more >> reporter: candlestick parks sits about 5 and a half miles south of downtown san francisco. the stadium was built in the late fifties as a home for the san francisco giants, the 49ers started using it in 1971. the giants moved out in 2000 and the next nfl season will be candlesticks last. for more than fifty years candlestick park has been home to sports, concerts, and more than a few memorable moments, among the highlights was the 1989 loma prieta earthquake, which shook the stadium on live television during the world series. there was also this pass from joe montana to dwight clark, which was immortalized as the catch that sent the 49ers to superbowl 16. candlestick park is currently run by the san francisco recreation and parks department, but after the 49ers play there last game here next season, developer lennar urban will take over. lennar is the same company t

indonesia. >> palo alto police are investigating an attempted child kidnapping. in one of that city's quiet neighborhoods. kron four's jeff bush shows you where it happened and who police are looking for palo alto police say it happened about this time of day. it was about 5:30 monday afternoon. an 11 year old girl was riding her bike along emerson streetsouthbound. that's when she says this man was yelling obceneties at her as she approached. that scared her but what scared here even more is when he ran out into the street and tried to grab her. she peddled harder and got away and made it home where she told her parents what had happened to her. take a look at this sketch obtained by kron four. you can see there is a high degree of detail in the sketch. the suspect is described as a white male in his 30's, about 140 to 160 pounds with balding, light color hair and round glasses. palo alto police say they are on the lookout for this man. our kids are our most valuable resource and law enforcement takes things very seriously any time a child is involved, especially and 11 year old girl. many

inside of that cabinet is not safe. >> reporter: city, the deputy that was injured cindy it must be painful for the entire department? >> it is painful for everybody with the law enforcement over southern california they have been working closely together for this lost last six-these days... there is no conflicting information they have not been inside of that cabin it is not safe. they believe that there is a body but it is not to say to the one side. it is not safe to go n sigin side of the cabin and i do not know anything about hostages. the victim's of the car theft were not injured. as far as i know. i am not aware i only know that there was a fire there that is all the information that i have. and i do not have any more information.. it was described to me as a rental and there was nobody there. >> reporter: can you reiterate just who is believed to be inside of that cabin? >> correct we believe that the person that. himself in side of that cabin and has been engaging with gunfire with our deputies and other law enforcement is still inside. even of the building has burned.
